PostScript
SoftwareDefinition
A page description language developed by Adobe that enables complex graphics, fonts, and layouts to be rendered consistently across different output devices.
In-Depth Explanation
PostScript capability is important for graphic arts workflows where files contain complex vector graphics, transparency effects, and advanced typography. DesignJet models with 'PS' or 'PostScript' in their name include a built-in PostScript interpreter. Non-PostScript models can still print PostScript files if a RIP software with PostScript support is used. PostScript processing requires more memory and processing power than HP-GL/2.
