Ink System Error: Printhead Failure (General)

This error indicates a general failure of one or more printheads. The printer cannot communicate with or use the printheads, preventing printing.

• 1One or more printhead electrical contacts are dirty, corroded, or damaged, preventing proper communication with the carriage assembly.
• 2A printhead has experienced an internal electronic component failure, rendering it inoperable and undetectable by the printer's firmware.
• 3The printhead carriage assembly's flex cable or main PCA connection to the printheads is faulty or damaged, disrupting the data path.
• 4Ink residue or debris has accumulated on the printhead's nozzle plate or firing circuitry, causing an electrical short or malfunction.
• 5Firmware corruption or an outdated firmware version is causing misinterpretation of printhead status or incorrect initialization sequences.

• The printer display shows error code '0x00C1000A' with 'Ink System Error' or 'Printhead Failure' message.
• The printer fails to initiate or complete the printhead alignment or calibration process.
• The printer may display an 'Install Printhead' or 'Replace Printhead' message even after new printheads are installed.
• No ink is ejected from any printhead, or print quality is completely absent, despite ink cartridges being full.
• The printhead carriage may attempt to move but then stop abruptly, returning to the service station with the error displayed.
