Paper Advance Motor
ComponentsDefinition
The motor responsible for feeding media through the printer in precise increments between each pass of the printhead carriage.
In-Depth Explanation
Accurate paper advance is critical for print quality. If the media advances too much or too little between passes, visible banding will appear in the print. The paper advance system uses an encoder wheel to track actual media movement and correct for slippage. Error 41:10 indicates a paper advance motor problem. Calibrating the paper advance through the printer's built-in calibration routines can resolve minor accuracy issues.
